The workspace is divided in three portions: the buttons grid at the top lists all buttons and all their states, the Preview panel displays the buttons according to your specified layout and lets you interact with them for testing purposes, and the Properties panel lets you view and modify various attributes of the buttons. This dialog offers you control over the format of the image and HTML files that you can produce with Button Workshop. The Output topic explains the settings in detail.
Each button is composed of a number of layers shown above. Layers can be partially transparent or even completely absent, and can be freely positioned relative to the button. See the Layers topic in the User's Guide for more information.
