Buttons are considered to "sit" on a Global Background. This background can be a solid color or a texture of your choosing, as specified in the Layout dialog. The role of this background is not limited to simply providing adequate contrast for the buttons. You can make the background partially show through transparent or partially transparent areas of your buttons. This can produce some stunning visual effects, visually uniting the buttons in "toolbars" - not only because the buttons themselves have similar appearances, but also because they may all share the same background. We invite you to visit our Samples GalleryGlyphGlobe02 on the Alventis Web siteGlyphGlobe02 to see some examples of possible uses for the global background.
