Alventis Button Workshop is an exceptionally powerful and flexible graphics application that will help you easily create stunning buttons for your Web site or any other creative application or project you may envision. Despite all of its power, it is conceptually quite straightforward.

The following topics introduce the main concepts used by Button Workshop.
| ♦ | Projects are sets of buttons, together with all attributes that describe them.
| ♦ | Every button has eight States to achieve its dynamic behavior.
| ♦ | The grid at the top of the main application window lists all the buttons that belong to a project. There is no limit to the number of buttons that can be in a single project. The Interface Overview topic explains how to work with buttons in the grid. As we have established earlier, each button has 8 states, and each state is represented by a column of the grid. So, buttons are in rows, and states (plus a few button attributes) are in columns.
| ♦ | Beneath the grid you will find the Preview panel. It displays the live preview of all buttons in the project.
| ♦ | Finally, the Properties Panel is where you can specify most attributes pertaining to the appearance of the buttons in the project.
| ♦ | You can apply the attributes you want to buttons or states with minimum effort. The principles behind it are explained in the topic on Properties Hierarchy.
| ♦ | Geometrically, buttons can be arranged in a Layout of your choosing.
| ♦ | Finally, your buttons can be Output to image files, accompanied by a ready-made HTML file. |
